Ben did an amazing carving job this year! Oliver was especially excited about the pumpkins. He loves everything spooky...he gets so excited to light them every night!

Canning

The girls loved making the jam so much....we decided to go to the farmers market and get tomatoes, to make chili sauce....AND pears to make pear jam. I don't know what got into me to allow a whole weekend of canning. But the girls had so much fun...and they did so much of the work. Their favorite part was blanching and peeling the pears and tomatoes. They were such hard workers, and we had such a good time...it was worth messing up the kitchen and a great fall weekend!

Fall Inflateable Fun

We went to the fall festival at the girl's friend's school too! They heard there were inflatables there...and there was no question! Allie and little Miss M loved the slide!

Oliver wouldn't get out of the bounce houses....he was in heaven! The lady was worried about him, but he can hold his own....
Isabelle & Miss M had a great time being gladiators :)

Strawberry Jam

The same farm that had the pumpkin patch had a huge strawberry field in the middle of October, with the most amazing strawberries we had ever tasted. They were so yummy, the girls begged to make freezer jam....so we picked a lot :)



Oliver was actually very helpful at first...
...then he took a bite....
Then he just sat down and started taking a huge bite out of each strawberry and throwing the stem back in the bucket....
Then it was time to make JAM!

They were quite the little team...cutting and mashing the strawberries...they made 18 pints!

Pumpkin Patch

The girls got busy picking pumpkins as soon as we got to the pumpkin patch....where was Oliver?

....of course....what else would you do at a pumpkin patch....
