Isabelle was baptized

Isabelle and her cousin, Nathan, were born 2 1/2 weeks apart. They have always had such a sweet little bond. I can remember when they were only 2 or 3 and Nate would lead Izzie into the room with his hand on her back. They are so similar in personality and temperament, they get along so well. So, I loved that they were able to be baptized the same day. Izzie would have been baptized on her birthday, but she was so sweet, she wanted to wait for her Nani to be able to come. Unfortunately, Nani's hospital stay was much longer than we had hoped. But, they had a sweet and simple little baptism with so many family members.
This wasn't their first big day they shared. They were both blessed on the same day as well.

Isabelle sang at her baptism. I recorded it when she was warming up, so that my mom could see. She was still in the hospital when Nate and Izzie were baptized.

They are too cute!

My Little Man is 2!

Oliver Benjamin

Oliver is definitely a little man. He is such a boy, I love it! He turned 2, and almost immediately moved from Elmo, to Disney "Cars" and Buzz & Woody from "Toy Story". I love the car noises, the sound effects with every "punch", karate chop, and jump. I love that he has to wrestle every day. I love that he goes around singing his own "songs" into straws. And that he gets so excited to see his boy cousins, that he chucks a ball at them as soon as they go through the door and says "catch". I have to work on loving his "no fear", his desire to jump of the tables, and down the steps. I really won't ever love his desire to go down the driveway hill as fast as he can on a scooter, skateboard, or just running full force toward the street. I love that he searches the whole garage, before I realize that "sup bor" means "skateboard" and lights up with excitement when I figure it out and find it. I love that he looks for trains the ENTIRE time we are in the car. I love that "muk" or milk is not milk, but milk with pink quik in it. (Dad doesn't like that one so much) I love that he poses with his gun and sings his own "theme music" at the same time. I love that he gets sad every day, when Daddy and the girls leave. I love that he will repeat anything you say except "I love you"...to that he just smacks a big kiss in the air. And I love that after being such a little man all day, he still loves to snuggle his mommy. He is growing up fast, but I am enjoying every second.Happy Birthday Bubby!

Elmo Party!!!!

Oliver has spent the last six months being completely in love and obsessed with Elmo. So, it was only fitting that his second birthday be filled with everything Elmo. This was also his last day with his beloved "Binks". Say farewell, son-of-a-dentist, it is only because of your mom's soft heart that you have had it this long.

Happy Elmo Birthday Party!

Isabelle

Isabelle Elaine

Isabelle has so brought so much joy to our family since she arrived 8 years ago. Our life is now filled with song. So, I thought there was no better way to tribute her on her 8th birthday than to let you see some of the music.

Isabelle,
We are so proud of you. You are such a sweet, genuine, and generous friend and sister. There is no wonder that your brother and sister light up with excitement when they see you. You are such a wonderful and pure daughter of our Heavenly Father. We are so happy that you chose to be baptized this year, and that you studied the scriptures so diligently before your baptism. You are such a talented and smart little girl. I love that you love to learn, and develop your talents. It makes us so happy to see you go after life with such excitement. I love that you fill our home with joy, laughter, and happiness. You have really made our life so much brighter since you became part of it. We really are the luckiest...or the "luckest" as you used to say.

Thanksgiving/Disco Assembly

The kiddos had an assembly around Thanksgiving time. Alexandra and the kindergarten class did the pilgrim/indian thing. She was excited to be an indian. They was so cute in her little indian braids. She is toward the top left if you can't spot her.

Isabelle joined the school choir this semester. The theme they were supposed to dress up as was disco. I still fail to see how this blends with a Thanksgiving themed assembly. But, she was quite the show stopper in her silver sequined little disco number. She is in the front middle.

Isabelle has a solo at the beginning of this one. There were no mics, so it is kind of quiet. She was so cute...she was all nervous, but excited. They had auditions for solos, so she was very proud she got it.

So here is my odd, but adorable, pair. A little Indian girl and disco queen. Super cute, I must say!

Catch Up!

I have over 12 posts saved in drafts...so prepare yourselves for the catch up of all catch ups. I am OCD though, so I have to fudge the dates and put them in order of when they happened :) I have re-posted a few REALLY old posts with new and improved video. I have overcome my inability to post video and am now super cool...so enjoy these catch-up posts before they go back in order! And much more to come!

Singing in church

July 21, 2009

Isabelle sang in church for the first time in July. This is the video from her practice session. We are so far from family that I thought it would be nice to share. She did a great job. And since she has been quite the regular. Her performance schedule is quite demanding :) Stay tuned for more!

Dance Recital

June 26, 2009
Dance Recital

This is the girl's dance recital from last June. I never posted video because apparently I am technologically challenged. But I have mastered embedding videos, so here you go! :) After these performances, Allie went into "big girl" classes, where they are separate, ballet and jazz. Isabelle was asked to join both the jazz and hip hop company teams. She decided on just jazz and was put in the 9-11 year old group even though she was only 7. She is loving it and has her first competition at the end of January...so stay tuned :)

Allie Ballet
She is the second from the left.

Allie Tap
She is the second from the right.

Izzie Ballet
She is the second from the left.

Izzie Hip Hop
She is in the middle front for most of this one. She has the bun.

Izzie Jazz
She is in the middle for most of this one too.

International Day!

I finally added video to a few of my old posts....so I will put them up in front so that everyone can take a look before putting them back in order.

June 15, 2009

I LOVE Isabelle's school. They get over $325,000 from parents every year to have extra programs such as art, science, physical education, dance. They have a drama department that you can join in plays. They have great after school classes, from dance, to karate, to soccer. All of the parents are mega talented as most are in the industry. One mother donated all of these costumes for the whole second grade for international day. All of the grade levels had different countries and learned dances and songs. These type of events happen so often at her school, but I am still amazed at all of the parent involvement and creativity at this school. Isabelle is in the yellow right in the middle during the singing, and on the right during the dance. You will know which one she is by the intense shoulder shimmying :)

Happy Birthday Isabelle

Izzie is 8!
Isabelle's 8th birthday was at Le Chic Spa

Nani & Papa were very generous and granted her wish of a spa party! The girls started with manicures and pedicures...

Then glam up do's...
Oliver & Ben stopped by....Oliver was not impressed.
Birthday Princess!
...and her darling princess sister!
Then Isabelle tried karaoke for the first time...it didn't take long for her to loosen up! Guess we know what Santa is bringing this year...
There were extra mics and headsets for everyone! Camp Rock, High School Musical, Hannah Montana...they were in heaven!and of course a dance party.
...all of the glammed up girls!

Yum...gourmet cupcakes...and creme puffs too, of course!
I found the cutest cake sparkler...it only lasts as long as the Happy Birthday song
Izzie said "hey everybody, look over here" then she did this and whispered "thank you" ...my heart melted a little bit, sweet girl....and shirley temples with extra cherries as per the birthday girl's request.

Happy Birthday...all pampered...and tuckered out!Isabelle postponed her baptism until Nani is well enough to be there. So, we will fill you in when that day comes, hopefully by Thanksgiving. I will do her birthday tribute then....xo my sweet girl!
