We bought Alexandra a butterfly habitat for her birthday. They came as little caterpillars and the girls watched them go from caterpillars, cocoons, to butterflies. These are some pictures setting the butterflies free.

We once brought a caterpillar from outside into a cup, where it made a cocoon, only to find out later it was a moth. Oh, well.
What a smart gift idea for Ally- I bet she loved the whole thing!
