We bought a house!

We rented in Abingdon, VA for our first year here...we LOVED the town and the people.  But when we started looking for houses....it made more sense to go 40 minutes away to Johnson City, TN.  Ben's work, the studio, and the girls activities were closer to this area.  Although, we plan on heading back to Abingdon on a regular basis for social activities, to see friends, and the yummy food! 

It was a rocky move.  We were in the middle of renovating the studio...packing, moving...a trip to California...and refinishing the floors before we moved in.  

Then....someone broke into the house when the floors will still wet...they skated and slid all over the floors.  They tried to refinish it ...TWICE...each time we couldn't live in the house for a week or more at a time.  Thank goodness the Woods offered us their adorable lake house to live in.  But school started...and we still weren't in our house. It was all too confusing for the kids who didn't know where they lived for a couple of months, between the lake house, the beach house in Cali, the old house in Abingdon...and the new one with no floors :)  Then, they decided they were unfixable and all of the hardwood need to be replaced!!!! So, we finally got moved in...but not unpacked!  Too busy now :)  We will get there...

But we LOVE the neighborhood and are excited to make this our home.  Ben loves his job here and he is very fortunate to work with great people and do something he loves to do.  We are really starting to feel like this is "home".  We are excited to make memories and watch our children grow up here....
