Huggies...starring Oliver Karren
Oliver was just cast in the next big Huggies campaign. He had a 2 day shoot with over 150 people working on this commercial. It was a much bigger production than the usual commercial because it is a new product, and they want a big introduction. Oliver was the star...and it is top secret. I can tell you that these new "high fashion" Huggies are super cute, although I can't show pics of the actual diaper yet. He did a great job, though! The director and the client both were super impressed with his ability to mimic, and his endurance...he never got sick of it, no crying or complaining. He was eating up all the attention! They had brought in extra babies, in case he got tired, or had a bad day...they could stand in for leg and bum shots. But the director said he couldn't use them because none of them had Oliver's strut. They were cracking up at his little swagger and his picking up on all of the twenty-something extras. As far as the shoot...it was in a high fashion european setting...his "mom" looks like a 6 foot Audrey Hepburn...and there were Lamborghini's, Ferrari's, Aston Martins...on set. Oliver's car was the '67 Lincoln convertible from "Entourage". He will also be on the "Today Show" who was shooting the behind the scenes. So... I will give more details when I am "allowed" and I will keep you posted to when the commercial and the diapers make their debut. It is a nationwide commercial, so you can all see it on TV. It took him a good week to get out of the star mode...he had 5 people hired just to make him happy...but who are we kidding...he is always the star at our house :)

Travel Town
February 13, 2010
Travel Town is in Griffith Park right by our house. So, when the cousins came up for the weekend, we thought going to the train park would be fun. Izzie and I went to her Colburn piano audition, and were a little late, that's why she isn't in the first pics. That is also why Oliver is in so many precarious situations too...

This one isn't too scary...
...but seriously? (Ben was hiding in the train, right by him...but still)
Our own train ride...
All of the cousins together :)

Little Tikes Firetruck
Oliver's first commercial is online! He is in the yellow shirt :)
Oliver got his first commercial! It is for Little Tikes..for their new fire truck. Oliver had a blast, he basically had a super long playdate with fun new toys. Although, I think his favorite part of the day was sitting in a director chair getting his hair blowdried by the hair/makeup girl. He was the youngest, then there were a few other kids. He especially enhoyed the firehose. There was a scene where he has to spray the "mom" and the other kids. He thought this was hilarious and was getting a lot of attention. So her turned the hose on the director, and the camera man...and the super expensive camera. The camera guy dove in front of it. Everyone was laughing at each other...and whoever laughed got the hose turned on them bext. The producer said he did a great job, and they didn't have enough trucks for everyone, but he earned one. So, she snuck it into the back of our car. I snapped a few pics when we got home. He was pretty excited. I will post the commercial when I get a copy!

Nancy (s)
Today is the birthday of Dr. Suess. Every year, on this day, the girls school celebrate. This year, they are having a silent reading for 1/2 hour all together on the playground. They asked that the kids dress up as their favorite character of a book. That is how we came to have 2 Nancys...one a little fancier than the other :)
Isabelle is very in to mysteries....so Nancy Drew was the logical choice...very appropriate for the "too cool" third grader. She was very excited to see a parked taxi outside...perfect for a Nancy Drew mystery pose...
And Alexandra is dressed up like this (with more makeup) on a regular basis...so Fancy Nancy it was. She was quite the vision on the walk to school and her grand entrance into the classroom. She was giddy last night after picking out her outfit.

So, Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

Isabelle Colburn School "Class" Recital
This was Isabelle's class recital, it was supposed to be last semester, but the teacher was ill and had to postpone it. These are just all of the kids that her teacher teaches, from 8 to 18. She was in the young group (up to 10) for the group umbers. This semester the school took no one under 10, except Isabelle, for private voice. She has been working hard on her Italian arias, and some fun musical theater, including "Popular" from Wicked. Her next recital is in May, so stay tuned :)
This was her solo performance...

Origami
Ben often takes the girls on Daddy Daughter Dates. Izzie was beyond excited when he took her to an Origami Day. His professor goes every month, and it was mostly older gentlemen there. But Izzie had a blast! She has been very into origami since last year when her class did about a million paper cranes. So, she has expanded her repertoire to say the least....

Isabelle, Alexandra & Oliver
We had the kids pictures done in Utah over Christmas Break. Jess Bishop of Photography by Jess always does a great job. These were Izzie and Ollie's Birthday Pictures...so there aren't quite as many of Allie. But they all turned out pretty cute! So, excuse the amount of pictures...but we have to make the grandparents happy!
